| Personal and professional development for teachers in a culturally inclusive setting
This course will give opportunity to:
• Develop further understanding of the “Ta’iala Mo Le Gagana Samoa” - new developments from MOE and other education organisations, - a stock take of initiatives for Samoan language, policies and practice, - research and future directions. • Share best practice - ideas that have been effective and successful in language learning; governance and management; teaching and learning of Samoan language; community consultation; and achievement through language learning. • Learn about a Linguistic approach - develop your knowledge of the internal structure of the Samoan language. • Learn about the work of Va’aomanu Pasifika (Victoria University of Wellington) on Gagana Samoa and Aganu’u in NZ - new developments of language teaching in tertiary education.
